ANTIQUE CAST IRON CANDLE LANTERN Big Heavy 15 Ornate Reticulated Design with Door
Found at a local estate sale is this big, heavy, beautifully crafted antique Candle Lantern made of cast iron and probably dating from the early 20th century. This ornate lantern is reticulated on all four sides and the top, allowing the candlelight inside to glow outward. The very top has a decorative acorn finial, and the bottom sides have curvilinear scrollwork. One side has a hinged door that opens for access to the candle. Inside is a 4 diameter fluted candle holder that can hold a pillar candle or similar.
The door has a metal latch to keep it closed. This old lantern measures almost 15" tall by 6.5" wide by 6.5 deep, and weighs over 10 lbs. A fantastic addition to your home or garden. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Decorative Collectibles\Candle Holders".
